  • Abstract: Our research is about use of whole public expenditure of operations and equipment as an instrument of economic growth. Traditional and new theoretical doctrines which are stated in our work indicate that theoretical framework adapted to treatment of this problematic belongs to models of internally formed growth. The aim of our study is to demonstrate importance of total expenditure of state on economic growth in Algeria. To attain this, we have considered carefully a variety of different patterns which have dealt with this main object. Thanks to Econometric modeling, we came to point that expenditures have no effect on economic growth.

  • Abstract: Consumer nowadays have become more aware of environmental issues which urge them to act more sustainably. One of the ways to behave more sustainably is conserving the energy. Consumers can conserve the energy by engaging in curtailment behaviour. Curtailment behaviour is believed to be more reliable and realistic in combating environmental problems, However, curtailment behaviours are still relatively difficult to be fully adopted by the individuals because they usually require sacrifice from the individuals. Therefore, it is fundamental to explore what factors can encourage consumers to engage in curtailment behaviour. This study attempts to explain curtailment behaviour from socio-psychological factors, represented by values and norms. A research model consisting of altruistic values, egoistic values, biospheric values, personal norms, social norms as predictors was then proposed and tested using multiple regression. The total number of 263 respondents were involved in this study. This study found that altruistic values play the biggest contribution in explaining curtailment behaviour of university students in Indonesia, followed by biospheric values and personal norms.  Meanwhile, egoistic values and social norms were proven to be insignificant. The result of this study provides understanding for government as a policy maker, as well as university as the education provider in composing the right approach to encourage the adoption of curtailment behaviour in the context of university students in Indonesia. Additionally, limitation and suggestion for further studies were also presented in later part of this paper.

  • Abstract: Big data analytics gained a great deal of attention from both, the business world and the academia. Investments of time, capital and personnel are significant, to the level that pioneers of this field reached a point of no return. Although there are clear insights of successful companies built on a big data analytics strategy, the results from the researchers’ work show mixed outcomes. It is not explicit under which circumstances big data analytics adoption leads to positive results. The purpose of this study is to run a meta-analysis review on the empirical articles that tackle big data analytics and organizational performance topics. As a methodology, we searched all the articles indexed on ISI Web of Knowledge during period January 2010 – May 2019. After the first filter, we selected 375, out of which we included only those studies which respected our full criteria: empirical study, provided results, at least one effect size and measurement error displayed. Based on this standard, we included 37 articles in our meta-analysis. The findings confirm that big data analytics play an important role in organizational performance. Finally, implications for practice are discussed, and future research directions are proposed considering the limitations of our study.

  • Abstract: The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of job satisfaction on employees’ performance: Case study of Al Hayat Company – PEPSI employees in Erbil, Kurdistan Region – Iraq. The method of this research is descriptive-survey, in terms of nature, it is applied and also in terms of time it is cross-sectional. The statistical population of this study consisted of most employees of this company in Erbil, with a sample size of 173. The sampling method was simple random. Data were collected using two standard questionnaires for job satisfaction and employee performance, which were confirmed by Cronbach’s alpha coefficient and composite reliability coefficient of the questionnaires. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by convergent validity (confirmation of factor loadings and AVE value) and discriminate validity. Descriptive statistics and confirmatory factor analysis were used to analyze the data, and structural equation modeling technique in PLS software was used to investigate the model before testing the hypotheses, the outer model of the research, the internal model and the model overall were fitted with the appropriate indices. Finally, the results showed that job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on the performance of employees of Al Hayat Company – PEPSI in Erbil. The results of the study indicate that managers need to focus more on their employees. In fact, employees are the most costly to the organization, but can contribute to the growth and profitability of the company in terms of performance.

The Link Between Decision Making Process and Performance: A Bibliometric Analysis

  • Page: 177
  • Authors: Ana Alexandra GORA
  • Abstract: The concepts of decision-making process and performance are two subjects that are interconnected in the existing articles in the scientific literature. The purpose of this paper is to provide, using bibliometric techniques, a review of the evolution of existing research on the relationship between decision making process and performance concepts. In this respect, 1516 articles published between 2000 and 2018 and indexed in the Web of Science database were analyzed. The main results of this research are obtained from three types of analysis: an analysis of the 1516 selected papers, an analysis of the citations received from these articles and an analysis of the keywords. Thus, the most important findings illustrate how the number of papers related to the analyzed topic evolved in time, in which journals the most articles related to this topic appear, which are the authors and the institutions with the highest contributions on the topic. Also, the results highlight which are the most cited articles. Furthermore, the main results show a mapping and clustering of keywords that allow the analysis of the links between them, based on the information provided by the VOSviewer software. This research becomes useful to researchers and practitioners interested in the analyzed subject, helping to identify new research directions starting from an analysis of the scientific literature.

Evaluating the effects of an R&D policy mix of subsidies and tax credits

  • Authors: Daniel NEICU
  • Abstract: This paper studies the additionality of a policy mix of R&D subsidies and wage-based tax credits on firms’ spending on basic research, applied research, and on development activities. Using non-parametric matching and instrumental variables estimations on a rich dataset of R&D-active companies, the results show that tax credits and subsidies have substantially different effects on firms’ R&D budgets. First, while tax credits alone increase private R&D spending, subsidies only do so when they are used together with tax credits. Second, tax credits seem to outperform subsidies, showing positive effects on all types of R&D. Subsidies only increase research spending when mixed with tax credits, and have no effect on development spending. These results have interesting implications for R&D policy design and R&D management.
